Installing the Crown
Generally, installing a dental crown over the tooth will take two visits to our office. During the first appointment, our dentists will prepare the tooth by removing the decay as well as shaping the outer shell to make room for the dental crown. Next, our dentists will make impressions of your tooth and you will be given a temporary crown. Then, we have to wait 3 to 4 weeks while the dental laboratory technicians custom make your perfect dental crown. When we get the crown back from the lab, you’ll come back into our office. During the second visit, our dentists will remove the temporary crown and will cement your new, beautiful, natural-looking crown into place. This will give you the strong, healthy, and beautiful tooth you need to have a healthy and attractive smile. Your new crown will feel comfortable and natural. It will last a long time if you take good care of it with routine dental hygiene and professional cleaning appointments.
